Timika – The Cartenz-2026 Peace Operations Public Relations Task Force held a gathering with Papuan journalists in Timika on Monday (May 25, 2026) as an effort to strengthen synergy, communication, and collaboration in conveying information to the public accurately and responsibly.
The event, which took place at the Titik Kumpul Cafe & Eatery in Timika, was led by the Head of the Cartenz-2026 Peace Operations Public Relations Task Force, Senior Commissioner of Police Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., and attended by Public Relations Task Force personnel and several members of the press from across Papua.
In a friendly atmosphere, the event provided a forum for discussion and camaraderie between authorities and the media to strengthen strategic partnerships in maintaining security and stability in Papua.
The Head of the Public Relations Task Force for the Cartensz-2026 Peace Operation, Senior Commissioner of Police Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., expressed his appreciation for the media’s role in providing balanced and professional information to the public.
He stated that synergy between the media and the Public Relations Task Force is crucial to prevent the spread of hoaxes and provocative information that could potentially disrupt public order and security in Papua.
“We hope that the good relationship and communication we have established with our fellow journalists can continue to be strengthened to provide accurate, reassuring information that can maintain security and stability in Papua,” said Senior Commissioner of Police Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T.
During the event, the Cartensz-2026 Peace Operation Public Relations Task Force also reaffirmed its commitment to prioritizing public information transparency by providing verified, proportional, and accountable information to the public.
Furthermore, all law enforcement processes carried out in the Carstensz Peace Operation are emphasized to adhere to the principles of professionalism, proportionality, and respect for human rights in accordance with applicable legal provisions.
The Head of the Carstensz-2026 Peace Operation, Inspector General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., stated that the media plays a crucial role as a strategic partner in maintaining security and stability and building public trust in the law enforcement process in Papua.
“The media is a crucial partner in conveying accurate and educational information to the public. Therefore, communication and synergy must be maintained to ensure a safe and conducive public order and security situation,” said Inspector General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Head of the Carstensz-2026 Peace Operation, Senior Commissioner of Police. Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., added that good collaboration between the media and the authorities is expected to create a calm and conducive atmosphere within the community.
“We invite all parties, including our media partners, to work together to maintain a safe situation in Papua by providing accurate, balanced, and responsible information,” said Senior Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum.
