Pegunungan Bintang – Personnel of the Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force 2026 carried out security measures during the inauguration ceremony of the Indonesian Gospel Church in Kiwirok District, Pegunungan Bintang Regency, on Friday (15/05/2026).
The security operation was led by the Head of the Kiwirok Post, Police Inspector Enabel Julian K., S.Pd., involving 14 personnel from the Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force 2026. The presence of security personnel aimed to ensure that the entire series of worship activities and the church inauguration proceeded safely, orderly, and solemnly.
Since early morning, personnel had been on standby around the location to provide a sense of security for the community attending the religious event. In addition to maintaining security, personnel also established humanistic communication with religious leaders and local residents as part of the persuasive approach consistently prioritized in carrying out duties in Papua.
The event was conducted safely, smoothly, and in a conducive atmosphere. Community members appeared enthusiastic and felt reassured by the presence of security officers who helped maintain order throughout the event.
The Head of Cartenz Peace Operation 2026, Inspector General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., stated that securing religious activities is part of the authorities’ commitment to guaranteeing the public’s freedom to worship safely and peacefully.
“The presence of personnel at religious activities is not only to maintain security, but also as a form of service to the community so they can worship calmly and joyfully. We continue to prioritize a humanistic approach and deep respect for the religious values and culture of the Papuan people,” said the Head of Cartenz Peace Operation 2026.
He also emphasized that security stability in Papua must be built through cooperation, tolerance, and a spirit of brotherhood among all elements of society.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Head of Cartenz Peace Operation 2026, Senior Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., stated that security measures for community activities will continue to be carried out professionally and persuasively in order to create a conducive situation.
“We want the community to feel that security personnel are present as protectors and guardians. Through a dialogical and humanistic approach, we hope that the good relationship between officers and the community will continue to grow for the realization of a safe and peaceful Papua,” he said.
The security operation for the church inauguration in Kiwirok is part of the Cartenz Peace Operation 2026’s efforts to maintain security stability while also strengthening harmony and tolerance within the Papuan community.
