Papua — Papuan Muslim leader and Head of the Takmir of the Papua Province Grand Mosque, KH. Abdul Kahar Yelipele, S.Pd.I., M.Pd.I., urged the entire community to work together to maintain security and peace in Papua, ensuring it remains safe, harmonious, and conducive.
In his statement, he emphasized that security and peace in Papua are the shared responsibility of all elements of society, from religious leaders, traditional leaders, youth leaders, to the general public.
“We urge all Papuans to continue to maintain unity, strengthen their sense of brotherhood, and work together to ensure Papua remains safe and peaceful,” he said.
He stated that the Operation Carstensz Peace Task Force has been carrying out various activities to maintain security stability and create a conducive public order and security situation in the Papua region.
According to him, the presence of the Carstensz Peace Operation Task Force among the community is part of an effort to maintain peace and provide a sense of security for the people of Papua.
“We express our highest appreciation to the Carstensz Peace Team, which has worked hard to maintain security in Papua. Their presence is a source of pride for the community, as they work directly among the people with the goal of maintaining a safe and peaceful Papua,” he said.
He also emphasized that religious leaders have a moral responsibility to maintain social harmony and strengthen unity within the Papuan community.
Therefore, he called on all religious leaders, community leaders, youth leaders, and traditional leaders to continue working together to maintain security stability and support all government programs to create a peaceful and prosperous Papua.
“Papua is our shared honai, our shared home. It is the obligation of all people to maintain and preserve peace in this land,” he said.
He added that Papua is a legitimate and inseparable part of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI), so all people are expected to continue to maintain unity and support the creation of a safe and conducive situation throughout Papua.
