Wamena – The Papua Mountains Provincial Government (Pemprov) is encouraging the optimization of early childhood education development, starting with early childhood education (PAUD) in eight regencies in the region.
Papua Mountains Governor John Tabo stated in Wamena on Monday that educational development must begin with PAUD and kindergarten (TK).
“Children must be educated from an early age so that their character and discipline are well-formed before they continue on to elementary, high school, and vocational high school,” he said.
According to him, the PAUD Mothers (Bunda PAUD) management in eight regencies in Papua Mountains has been established, which will be a good start in fostering educational development from now on.
“The PAUD Mothers (Bunda PAUD) in the eight regencies are a shared hope in creating a quality young generation, starting with early childhood education,” he said.
He explained that this quality generation must be formed from an early age so that character, discipline, determination, and hard work can be optimally developed.
“We certainly hope that the next generation of Mountain Papuans will possess strong character and great leadership skills, having pursued their education all the way to university,” he said.
He added that education is the main capital and foundation for children to achieve their future goals and dreams.
“We are where we are today because of education. Therefore, today’s young generation, who already have everything, must be able to get better education so they can become great leaders in Indonesia, especially in Mountain Papua,” he said.
