Restores a Sense of Security, Police Picks Up Elementary School Students in Kapiraya

Mimika — The recovery of the security situation in the Kapiraya area, Mid West Mimika District, has a positive impact on community activities, including the education sector. After being disturbed by the conflict, now the teaching and learning activities at SDN Inpres Uta 2 Kapiraya are back to normal with the full support of the security forces.

As a form of concern for the continuity of children’s education, police personnel provide shuttle services for students. This step is done to ensure safety as well as give a sense of peace to students’ parents so that they do not hesitate to allow their children to go back to school.

On Tuesday (4/21/2026), it was seen that the students filled the classrooms again with a new spirit. The presence of police officers who directly see off and pick up students is an important factor in rebuilding public trust after the conflict.

The school expressed their appreciation for the active role of the security apparatus which not only kept the situation conducive, but also participated in ensuring the continuity of education. According to the school, the support is very helpful in reactivating teaching and learning activities that have been stopped.

“Thank you to the officers who have helped and reassured the students’ parents. With this escort and shuttle service, children can go back to school safely,” said one of the school representatives.

This effort is part of the humanist approach of the apparatus in maintaining regional stability while ensuring that the basic rights of the community, especially children, are still fulfilled. With the increasingly conducive situation, it is hoped that educational activities in Kapiraya can continue to run smoothly and sustainably.
