South Papua – The Deputy Minister for Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration (Wamendes PDT) has called on all stakeholders to strengthen collaboration in accelerating equitable development across South Papua.
In his statement, he emphasized that as a newly established autonomous province, South Papua still faces significant challenges, particularly in terms of basic infrastructure, access to public services, and improving the welfare of rural communities.
He noted that the government continues to push forward various strategic programs, including optimizing the use of village funds, enhancing the capacity of local village officials, and promoting community-based economic development rooted in local potential.
“Accelerating development requires the involvement of all parties. Strong synergy between the central government, regional authorities, and the community is essential to ensure development is both inclusive and sustainable,” he stated.
He further highlighted the importance of adopting development approaches that are responsive to local socio-cultural conditions, ensuring that implemented programs effectively address the real needs of the community.
In addition, transparency and proper oversight were underscored as key elements to ensure that development initiatives are carried out effectively and reach their intended targets.
With solid collaboration, the government remains optimistic that South Papua can achieve faster progress and significantly improve the overall quality of life for its people.
