Jayapura – In response to the current situation in Papua, Reverend James Wambrauw has called on the public to safeguard unity and avoid being provoked by groups seeking to create division.
“We have just celebrated the 80th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia. Therefore, we must continue to uphold national unity and integrity by not being easily influenced by irresponsible parties,” said Rev. Wambrauw.
He emphasized the importance of maintaining security and public order, both in Papua and across Indonesia, within the framework of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).
Furthermore, Rev. Wambrauw urged the Papuan community to remain calm and place their trust in God. “Let us submit ourselves to God, entrust every matter to Him, and be role models as people of faith,” he added.
According to him, prioritizing peace and harmony will enable government development programs—ranging from infrastructure to healthcare and education—to progress effectively. “This will bring about peace and prosperity for the people of Papua,” he concluded.
