Jayapura – Kapolda Papua Inspector General Mathius D Fakhiri said there were indications that other regional officials in Papua were suspected of participating in funding the Armed Criminal Group (KKB).
Previously, the Damai Cartenz Operations Task Force 2023 arrested the Head of the Kenyam District, Nduga Regency, Papua Mountains, with the initials MM (37), who was suspected of participating in funding the KKB at the end of April 2023.
MM is suspected of being one of the donors of funds for the KKB which has been acting up in the area.
According to Inspector General Mathius, the Kenyam district head is not the only one, because many are involved.
He ensured that the security forces would not stop because there were indications that apart from MM, there were still other regional officials doing the same thing.
“There are district heads, village heads, there are also district governments. The Kenyam district head is not the only one, many are involved and we are continuing to develop them. We will get into them so that they stop supporting KKB activities,” said Mathius in Jayapura , Friday (5/5/2023).
He is of the opinion that the KKB movement cannot be stopped as long as its supporters, especially regional officials who provide budgetary support, are not taken into account.
Therefore, he asked those who have been helping the KKB to stop this immediately.
“There are those who help with money, whether they understand it directly, there are also those who may not know that the money is flowing to these groups,” he said.
