Nabire – In commemoration of the 80th Bhayangkara Day, the Nabire Resort Police (Polres Nabire) demonstrated its commitment to serving the community by implementing a house renovation program for underprivileged residents. The initiative reflects the Indonesian National Police’s dedication not only to maintaining public security and order but also to improving the welfare of the community.
Nabire Police Chief, Senior Commissioner (AKBP) Samuel D. Tatiratu, stated that the program began with field surveys conducted by police officers to ensure that assistance was provided to residents who were genuinely in need.
Following the assessment, the house belonging to Yulius Danomira, located on Jakarta Street, Karang Mulia Village, Nabire Kota District, was selected as the beneficiary. The modest 4 x 8-meter house, originally built in the early 1970s, was deemed unfit for habitation due to its deteriorating condition.
“Together with my officers, we personally inspected the conditions of local residents. After assessing Mr. Yulius Danomira’s house, we decided to renovate it because it was no longer safe or suitable for living,” said the Police Chief.
Construction took nearly three months, beginning on March 27, 2026. Through the collective efforts of Nabire Police personnel and support from various stakeholders, the house was successfully transformed into a permanent 13 x 13-meter residence that is safer, more comfortable, and fit for occupancy.
The Police Chief emphasized that the success of the project was made possible through teamwork, mutual cooperation, and the shared commitment of all parties involved to make a meaningful contribution to the community.
In addition to the house renovation program for local residents, the Nabire Police also renovated 27 official residences for police personnel located on Sudirman Street, Karang Mulia Village, Nabire Kota District. Seven units underwent major renovations, including wall replacement, roof repairs, and floor reconstruction, while the remaining 20 units received minor renovations to improve living conditions for police personnel.
The newly renovated house was officially inaugurated by the Chief of the Central Papua Regional Police, Brigadier General (Brig. Gen.) Jeremias Rontini. During the ceremony, he expressed hope that the house would become the foundation for a brighter future for the beneficiary’s family.
“A house is more than just a building. It is where children grow, love is nurtured, and prayers are offered. May this home bring new hope, happiness, and inspire the family to continue pursuing a better future,”he said.
Meanwhile, Yulius Danomira expressed his gratitude for the assistance provided by the Central Papua Regional Police and the Nabire Resort Police.
“I am deeply grateful for this house renovation program. My sincere thanks to the Chief of the Central Papua Regional Police and the Nabire Police Chief for their care and support for my family. We now have a safe and decent home to live in,”he said.
Through the series of activities marking the 80th Bhayangkara Day, the Nabire Resort Police hope their presence will continue to bring tangible benefits to the community—not only through maintaining public security and order, but also through humanitarian initiatives that directly improve people’s quality of life.
