Manokwari, West Papua – The West Papua Provincial Government through the Posyandu Training Team (TP) continues to encourage the increase in public awareness of the importance of basic health services through the launch of the Ayo ke Posyandu Movement and the 2026 Immunization Award. The program was officially launched in the Cross-Sector Collaboration Strengthening activity that took place in Manokwari, Tuesday (6/23/2026).
The launch of this movement is part of the effort to strengthen the culture of healthy living in the community as well as restoring the role of Posyandu as a health service center that reaches all age groups. Not only for mothers and toddlers, Posyandu is now encouraged to become a health service platform for teenagers, productive age, and the elderly.
Head of TP Posyandu West Papua, Yuliana A. Mandacan, said that the success of health development cannot be done by one party alone. Collaboration and joint commitment are needed from all stakeholders so that Posyandu’s services are more quality and able to reach the community to the village level.
According to him, these activities become a momentum to strengthen cross-sector synergy in supporting various public health programs as well as ensuring the implementation of the Minimum Service Standard (SPM) can run optimally.
“Posyandu has a very important role as the vanguard of community service. Therefore, support is needed from all parties so that Posyandu can continue to develop and provide wider benefits for the people of West Papua,” he said.
On that occasion, TP Posyandu West Papua also introduced the Ayo application to Posyandu as a digital innovation that supports the improvement of public health services. The presence of this application is expected to make it easier for the public to obtain information related to service schedules, health programs, and various Posyandu activities in their respective regions.
Through the digital approach, the government hopes that community participation in utilizing Posyandu services can increase. In addition to facilitating information access, this application is also a means to strengthen communication between Posyandu cadres, health workers, and the community.
This activity is also combined with the award of the 2026 Immunization Award, as a form of appreciation to local governments, health workers, Posyandu cadres, and various parties who are considered to contribute to increasing the coverage of immunization and basic health services in West Papua.
The launch of the Ayo to Posyandu Movement is one of the strategic steps in supporting the development of healthy and quality human resources. With the active involvement of all community elements, Posyandu is expected to be more able to become a responsive, inclusive, and sustainable health service center for all West Papuans.
Through this movement, the government invites the public to re-utilize Posyandu services regularly as part of the efforts to maintain family health and create a healthy, intelligent, and productive West Papuan generation in the future.
