Timika, Central Papua – In an effort to support the local economy, personnel from Operation Peace Cartenz-2025 carried out a social activity by directly purchasing goods from Papuan women vendors along Cenderawasih Street, SP3, Mimika, on Tuesday (Jan 28) afternoon.
This initiative involved two personnel, Briptu Yoga Yandika and Bripda Annisa Mahardika, who bought various fresh vegetables and fruits harvested by local farmers. This step is expected to help increase the income of small traders while strengthening the relationship between security forces and the local community.
The Head of Public Relations for Ops Peace Cartenz-2025, Police Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo, explained that this activity is part of a humanistic approach program, which is one of the main focuses of Operation Peace Cartenz-2025.
“The presence of our personnel along Cenderawasih Street aims to support small traders, especially Papuan women, who sell their agricultural produce. This is one of our ways of showing concern for the local economy,” said Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo.
According to him, this direct interaction not only has an economic impact through the purchase of local products but also serves as a means to build trust and closer relationships between security forces and residents.
One of the vendors expressed her happiness with the attention given by the Ops Peace Cartenz-2025 personnel. “We are very grateful. If officers often do this, we small traders feel noticed, and this helps us a lot,” she said.
All these efforts aim to create a stable security situation while supporting the well-being of the community.
Through this initiative, it is hoped that the good relationship between security forces and the community will continue to be maintained, leading to a peaceful, safe, and prosperous Papua.
