Muting, Merauke, Saturday, October 26, 2024 – SMA Negeri 1 Muting, Merauke Regency, South Papua, held its 25th Anniversary celebration as well as a grand reunion with the theme “Meet, Share, Tell About Us.”
This lively event was attended by around 500 participants, including alumni, students, and community leaders, making it a valuable moment to strengthen togetherness and pride in the alma mater.
A number of figures also attended this event, including the Head of Muting District, Muting Police Chief, Muting Military Commander, Village Heads throughout Muting District and other community institutions.
The series of activities held from 19 to 26 October 2024 aims to strengthen ties between students, alumni, and teachers, as well as commemorate the 25th anniversary of the school which was established on 20 October 1999.
The Principal of SMA Negeri 1 Muting, Marthen Zenon Jamlean, S.Pd., Gr., said that SMA Negeri 1 Muting was established as an educational institution that serves three districts at once, namely the Muting, Ulilin, and Eligobel Districts.
“This celebration is proof that SMA Negeri 1 Muting has been an important part of the lives of the local community for 25 years,” he said.
“To enliven the event, various competitions such as healthy walks, karaoke, chess, futsal, volleyball, and quizzes were held and participated in by students and alumni. This activity aims not only to entertain, but also to strengthen the sense of unity among the participants,” he added.
The Principal also expressed his hope that SMA Negeri 1 Muting will continue to develop, producing a generation that is ready to compete, and has the spirit and ability to face global challenges.
“SMA Negeri 1 Muting is ready to produce a young generation of Papuans who can compete in the world of higher education and contribute to Indonesia,” he said.
The Chairperson of the Grand Reunion Committee, Imam Nurhadi, S.Pd., Gr., emphasized that the main objective of this event is to strengthen the relationship between teachers, students, and alumni.
“We hope that this togetherness can be a foundation for SMA Negeri 1 Muting to continue to contribute to producing future leaders for South Papua and Indonesia,” he explained.
In line with that, the Secretary of the Committee Yulius Sugito, S.Pd., said that the theme “Meet, Share, Tell About Us” contains the meaning of an invitation to create sincere and inspiring relationships between all elements of the school.
The 25th anniversary celebration of SMA Negeri 1 Muting took place with great enthusiasm and togetherness, leaving unforgettable memories for all participants. In addition to strengthening the bond between students and alumni, this event is also a symbol of pride and solidarity towards the beloved alma mater, adding color to the meaningful historical journey of SMA Negeri 1 Muting.
