The Papua Regional Police have prepared themselves so that the regional democracy event will run safely, peacefully and conducively. This was conveyed directly by the Papua Regional Police Chief (Kapolda), Inspector General Pol. Matheus D Fakhri, S.I.K, M,H. After he appointed 489 National Police NCOs who came from two provinces in the country, including 294 people from Papua and 195 people from West Papua. Inspector General Fakhri, said that the 489 National Police NCOs would be given temporary leave, after which all of them would return to the Papua Regional Police. “That’s why I conveyed my policy yesterday to Karo SDM, they were all given a short holiday and immediately returned to the Papua Regional Police,” said Inspector General Fakhri. Inspector General Fakhri emphasized that after arriving at the Papua Regional Police, as many as 489 National Police NCOs would later be divided into three groups, including Brimob, HR Bureau, and Samapta. “They were given a short holiday, they all went straight back to the Papua Regional Police, they will be divided into three, those who went to Brimob were immediately put into Brimob, two parts were in the HR bureau and the other was in Samapta,” he stressed. Inspector General Fakhri said these preparations will take place until the regional head elections (Pilkada) take place in November 2024. After that, he said, they would be placed in several areas.
