Jayapura- Papuan traditional leader, Max Ohe, invited the Papuan people not to be provoked by threats to boycott the elections. He emphasized that elections are an important democratic party to advance the Earth of Cenderawasih, Sunday, 11/2/2024.
Max Ohe in Jayapura said that the 2024 elections in Papua involved Papuans from all walks of life, including young, old, and women, many of whom took part as legislative candidates at various levels of government.
Max Ohe expressed the need to give appreciation to the candidates who have participated, recognizing that they bring goodness to the progress of the land of Papua.
He continued, traditional life is not an obstacle to progress, but as part of the identity of the Papuan people. So he encouraged participation in supporting the success of the 2024 Election.
He added that groups or parties that reject elections by boycotting can harm the land of Papua, and invited the public not to get involved in these efforts.
Meanwhile, the Papua Police Chief, Inspector General of Police Mathius Fakhiri, informed that his party had held various activities in the framework of the cooling system 2023-2024, such as KKR, Interfaith Prayer, Friday and Sunday blessings. This activity aims to build unity and integrity, and keep the elections peaceful, cool, and without polarization and negative issues.
Inspector General of Police Mathius Fakhiri emphasized that these activities also aim to prevent the spread of hoaxes, polarization, and black campaigns that can disrupt order and a peaceful atmosphere during the election process.
“We must maintain our commitment to maintain stability, unity, and order in facing the 2024 elections in Papua together,” concluded the Papua Police Chief.
