Jayapura, – Following the commemoration of Human Rights Day on December 10, 2025, and entering the Christmas celebration period, the Chairman of the Papua Youth Presidium Tabi Region, Fran Reynould Thejo, emphasized the importance of maintaining security in Jayapura City. Fran called on all elements of society, youth, students, traditional leaders, church leaders, and community groups to work together to ensure the Papua capital remains safe and conducive.
“I invite traditional leaders, churches, and all community groups to interpret this momentum by maintaining security,” he said in Jayapura, Monday (12/8). He stressed that December is a month of great joy for Christians, so a peaceful atmosphere needs to be maintained ahead of Christmas and New Year 2026.
According to him, the religious celebrations and commemoration of Human Rights Day should be a moment of reflection for all parties to prioritize unity and a spirit of tolerance. Fran also reminded people of the importance of supporting the security authorities. “We support the police in maintaining security. Security is everyone’s responsibility,” he said.
He hoped that all residents could celebrate Christmas and New Year with full peace. “The people of Jayapura must welcome Christmas and New Year in a peaceful, harmonious, and united atmosphere,” he concluded.
