Carstensz Peace Task Force Humanitarian Patrol in Muara, Puncak Jaya, Greets and Shares with the Community

PUNCAK JAYA – The Carstensz-2026 Peace Operation Task Force’s presence in the community was once again demonstrated through patrols and a humanistic approach in Muara District, Puncak Jaya Regency, on Friday (July 31, 2026).

During these activities, personnel from the Carstensz-2026 Peace Operation Task Force visited several communities they encountered in the Muara District area. In addition to ensuring the security situation remained conducive, personnel also took the time to interact directly with residents through casual conversation and sharing fruit.

The interaction was warm and friendly. The personnel not only carried out security duties but also took the time to listen to the stories and conditions of the people they encountered.

This simple approach is part of an effort to build communication and strengthen relationships between security forces and the community. For residents, the presence of personnel willing to greet and engage in direct conversation leaves a positive impression.

A resident of Muara District, Markus Wenda, expressed his appreciation for the personnel who took the time to interact with the community.

“We’re happy the gentlemen came and greeted us. They were willing to talk and ask how we were doing. It felt closer because they weren’t just patrolling, but also willing to talk with the community,” said Markus.

Another resident, Yuliana Kogeya, expressed similar sentiments, appreciating the personnel’s attention when distributing fruit to the community.

“We thank you for coming and sharing with us. The fruit you gave us is simple, but we feel cared for. We hope this kind of communication can continue,” said Yuliana.

The Head of the Cartenz-2026 Peace Operation, Inspector General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., said that the patrols are part of an effort to maintain security and build rapport with the community.

“The presence of the Carstensz Peace Operation Task Force in the community is not only to ensure security is maintained, but also to build communication and trust. Direct interactions like this are important so that personnel can listen to and understand the community’s situation more closely,” said the Operations Chief.

According to him, a humanistic approach is a crucial part of the implementation of the Carstensz-2026 Peace Operation. Security, he said, is not only built through security activities, but also through good relations between officers and the community.

“We want the community to feel the presence of officers as part of our efforts to provide a sense of security and comfort. Therefore, we continue to encourage personnel to carry out their duties with a humane attitude, courtesy, and respect for the community,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Chief of the Carstensz-2026 Peace Operation, Senior Commissioner Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., said that simple interactions between personnel and the community can be a bridge to building mutual trust.

“Greeting, chatting, listening to people’s stories, and sharing simple things are all important forms of communication. Through these interactions, the public can get to know our personnel better, while our personnel also gain a better understanding of the lives of the people we meet,” said the Deputy Chief of Operations.

The Deputy Chief of Operations added that all personnel of the Carstensz-2026 Peace Operation Task Force are expected to maintain a balance between carrying out security duties and engaging with the community.

“We want our personnel’s presence to be visible not only during security duties, but also through caring attitudes and good communication. The community is a crucial part of creating a safe and conducive environment, so good relationships must continue to be built,” he said.

The patrols and humane approach took place in a safe and conducive environment. Community activities in the Muara District also proceeded normally.

Through these activities, the Carstensz-2026 Peace Operation Task Force affirmed its commitment to remain present in the community by prioritizing a humane approach. Patrols are not only a means of maintaining security, but also a space to greet, listen, and build closer relationships with the community.
