Wamena – The Papua Mountains Red and White Front (BMP) condemns the acts of violence allegedly perpetrated by an armed criminal group (KKB) against three civilians in Yahukimo Regency, Papua Mountains.
BMP Papua Mountains Chairman Agus Huby stated in Wamena on Saturday that acts of violence against civilians are unjustifiable because they contradict humanitarian values ​​and disrupt security in Papua Mountains.
“Acts of violence against civilians are unjustifiable because they contradict humanitarian values ​​and the law, and disrupt security and order in Papua, especially in Papua Mountains,” he said.
Meanwhile, BMP Jayawijaya Regency Chairman Hengki Heselo urged all elements of society to maintain unity, not be easily provoked by unverified information, and to support the creation of a conducive security situation in Papua Mountains.
“We also offer our deepest condolences to the families of the three victims killed by the KKB in Yahukimo Regency,” he said.
Hengki hopes that law enforcement will prosecute the perpetrators according to applicable regulations so that the public’s sense of security can be quickly restored.
As a form of social responsibility, the Papua Pegunungan BMP and the Jayawijaya Regency BMP distributed aid packages of basic necessities to residents in Wamena, Jayawijaya Regency.
“This activity is a concrete manifestation of the organization’s commitment to helping the community and strengthening bonds of brotherhood amidst the various challenges they face,” added Agus Huby, Head of the Papua Pegunungan BMP.
Previously, footage circulated on social media showing acts of violence allegedly carried out by the armed criminal group (KKB) led by Kopi Tua Heluka near the Trans Papua Highway in Seradala District, Yahukimo Regency, Papua Pegunungan. In that incident, three indigenous Papuan civilians were reportedly killed after being accused of being spies with police assistance.
