Jayapura City Ensures Equal Access to Quality Education for All Children

Jayapura – The Jayapura City Government in Papua has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that every child in the region has equal access to proper and quality education.

Jayapura Mayor Abisai Rollo said on Sunday that the local administration continues to enhance the quality of education through a range of strategic programs. These include improving the capacity of teachers and education personnel, strengthening character education rooted in Papuan local culture, expanding access to education in outlying areas, and optimizing the use of digital technology in the learning process.

Rollo noted that the commemoration of National Education Day (Hardiknas) 2026 serves as an important momentum to reinforce the commitment of all stakeholders toward advancing education in the region.

“This activity holds strategic significance as it strengthens the commitment of all education stakeholders, including the government, educators, students, and the community,” he said.

He added that this year’s Hardiknas should serve as a call for collective action to create a conducive and inspiring educational environment with active participation from all elements of society.

“We also encourage all educators to continue innovating, to be role models, and to deliver learning that is engaging and relevant to the times,” he said.

Rollo further expressed hope for stronger synergy among the government, educators, and families in building a sustainable and high-quality education ecosystem in the future.
