Puncak Jaya Indigenous Leader Urges Community to Maintain Peace and Security

Mulia – The Chairman of the Indigenous Peoples Institute (LMA) of Mulia, Puncak Jaya Regency, Lemas Telenggen, has called on the community to safeguard peace and order while avoiding provocation from external issues that could undermine unity.

Following the recent regional election conflict in Puncak Jaya, Telenggen urged all elements of society to support the local government’s programs in restoring community activities and continuing the development of regional facilities and infrastructure, particularly in Puncak Jaya.

He emphasized the importance of remaining calm, wise, and prioritizing collective interests. According to him, the security situation in Puncak Jaya has begun to stabilize and must be preserved together to prevent disruption by outside influences.

“I urge all residents of Puncak Jaya not to be provoked by external issues. Let us work together with the local government, religious leaders, traditional leaders, and the entire community to maintain this increasingly stable situation,” said Lemas Telenggen.

He also encouraged religious, youth, and traditional leaders to take an active role in educating the community on the importance of safeguarding peace and unity.

Telenggen warned that the spread of false or provocative information on social media could trigger division and destabilize public order if not carefully managed.

“We must be cautious in responding to circulating issues, whether spread directly or through social media. Do not be swayed by unverified information, as it will only cause division among us,” he added.

With this call from a local traditional leader, the community is expected to exercise restraint, act wisely, and maintain social harmony.

This step is considered crucial to ensure that Puncak Jaya remains safe, peaceful, and conducive amid political and security dynamics from outside the region.

“Let us unite and work hand in hand to keep Puncak Jaya peaceful. Security and welfare are our shared responsibility,” Telenggen concluded.

With the commitment of traditional leaders and all elements of society, security stability in Puncak Jaya is expected to be sustained, forming a strong foundation for development and shared prosperity.
