Papua- Ahead of the Simultaneous Regional Elections, Prov. Central Papua is one of the places where security is concerned during the regional elections, this was conveyed by the Central Government.
The Papua Mountain Provincial Government assesses that there is special attention from the central government towards the implementation of the simultaneous regional elections considering that the Director General of Politics and Home Affairs of the Ministry of Home Affairs is focusing on coordination meetings in Wamena.
Acting Governor of Papua Mountains Dr. Velix Vernando Wanggai said that the Papua Mountain Provincial Government expressed its appreciation because the central government chose Wamena for the regional election readiness coordination meeting.
“I think when Wamena was chosen it was of course because there was special attention. “It could be because of the track record of elections or regional elections in the last 10 years,” said Felix after signing the peaceful regional election declaration at the Baliem Pilamo Wamena Hotel,” he said.
He mentioned that there were several regions that would become points in the implementation of future security which would require a lot of TNI-Polri personnel in the Pilkada activities.
“We mapped especially each district and district area of ​​concern. “It’s not only a matter of security, but it’s also vulnerable to logistics distribution and voting patterns, including acclamation, noken system and/or One Man One Vote, have their own potential for conflict,” he concluded.
