Guarantee Pilkada Security, Mimika Police Discussion with Community Leaders from 7 Tribes

Mimika – Mimika Police invited and held discussions with figures and heads of traditional community institutions from 7 tribes to jointly guarantee the security of the 2024 regional elections.

“I invited these figures, because they have a community and can direct their community to work together to maintain the security of the 2024 regional elections,” said Mimika Police Chief, AKBP I Komang Budiartha after a discussion in the Mimika Police Ops room, Jalan Cenderawasih, Friday ( 7/19/2024).

It is hoped that this discussion can have a positive impact on ensuring security during the regional elections in Mimika. This meeting will continue, together with other partners such as FKUB and other institutions in Mimika.

The points discussed in this discussion are looking for the causes of problems, especially the large number of young people who are drunk with alcohol, related to communication problems between officers and figures, and agreeing to form a police partner agency.

“Partners are so that we can coordinate with each other and provide information,” said AKBP Komang.

Meanwhile, the Amungme tribe community leader who is also a member of the Central Papua MRP, Giman Magai, said that the discussion with the Mimika Police Chief was aimed at being able to work together in one command to maintain security in order to create a safe and peaceful regional election.

“We as community leaders are very grateful, because the Mimika Police entrusted us to maintain the security of the Pilkada. We are also ready to collaborate on this, because we also want a safe and peaceful Pilkada,” he said.
