Timika – Head of Cartenz Peace Operations, Police Commissioner Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K. M.H. denies that there are restrictions on access for human rights institutions to the Papua region. According to him, everyone, including foreign citizens, is free to enter Papua.
“I think everyone comes to Papua without any restrictions. “People here who are foreign nationals are free to come here,” said Faizal, Monday (13/05/2024).
According to him, foreign nationals have had no difficulty coming to Wamena and Jayapura and claim that so far there have been no problems with their arrival.
“There are no restrictions,” he said. If someone asks the government to open access, Faizal says that person has never been to Papua.
Previously, TPNPB-OPM spokesperson, Sebby Sambom, in a written statement said that the Indonesian government would immediately open humanitarian access to national and international human rights institutions to review civilians affected by the armed conflict in Papua.
