Jayapura – The Dogiyai Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) team swiftly conducted a crime scene investigation (TKP) after the Office of the Dogiyai District Human Resources Education and Training Personnel Agency (BKPSDM) was engulfed in a red rooster on Monday morning (4/09/ 2023).
Head of Papua Police Public Relations, Kombes Pol. Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo, S.H., S.I.K., M.Kom, Tuesday (5/9/2023) provided information regarding this activity.
He said that the crime scene investigation was aimed at collecting evidence which would later be used in the investigation process.
“Members of the Criminal Investigation Unit (Reskrim) led by Head of Criminal Investigation Unit Iptu Syafri Jido, S. Hi, together with Ipda M. ZAID, S. Hi., M.Sc, conducted a crime scene (TKP) to collect evidence and information. what is needed,” he said.
Meanwhile the Dogiyai Police Chief, Kompol Sarraju, S.H, when asked about the number of witnesses being questioned, the Dogiyai Police Chief revealed that one of the eyewitnesses, with the initials Y.A, had given his statement.
“Y.A was a person who served as supervisor at Bank Papua on the night of the incident. According to witness testimony, he was carrying out his duties when the Head of the Bank Papua Branch, Br. Petrus Mote called him and told him that there was a big fire next to the Bank Papua office. Y.A then checked the fire from behind the bank office and saw that the fire had grown and burned down the BKPSDM office. “The witness also heard the sound of an explosion from inside the BKPSDM office,” he said.
The Police Chief also appealed to the whole community not to take dishonorable actions that could harm many people and break the law. He emphasized that the police were conducting an in-depth investigation to find out the exact cause of this fire.
“The investigation is still ongoing, and the public is asked to provide cooperation and information that can assist in uncovering this case,” concluded the Chief of Police.
