Jayapura,- Two groups of the West Papua National Committee (KNPB) which often voice the struggle for an Free Papua are involved in a dispute at the BTN Purwodadi Sentani housing complex, Friday, August 18, 2023.
This dispute started when the KNPB group led by Agus Kosay did not accept it when it was said that he was no longer the leader of the KNPB because he had collaborated with the security forces.
Hearing this, the 50 KNPB group led by Agus Kosay moved to the KNPB group led by Allen Halitopo at the BTN Purwodadi Sentani housing complex, carrying sharp weapons and immediately carried out sporadic attacks on the KNPB group led by Allen Halitopo.
The attack caused two people from the KNPB group led by Allen Halitopo to suffer serious injuries including Ones Kobak who received a stab wound in the neck and also Daison Suhun who received a stab wound to the right chest.
Allen Halitopo, when interviewed, confirmed this and said that he had asked his group to refrain even though victims fell from his group.
“Yes, it’s true that this afternoon around 1 pm, we were sitting in our secretariat and suddenly Agus Kosay came with 50 people equipped with sharp weapons and attacked us so that two of our friends were seriously injured and our secretariat was destroyed,” he said.
Until this news was revealed, the two groups were still guarding each other’s places.
