SINAK – Puncak Regent Wilem Wandik deeply regrets the KKB terror that continues to occur in Puncak Regency, central highlands of Papua.
“Today I visited a community refuge in the Sinak District after a week ago there was gunfire between the KKB and the TNI-POLRI,” said Wilem Wandik (10/03/2023).
During the visit, the Regent was accompanied by the ranks of the local government besides being seen attending the Puncak Police Chief Kompol I Nyoman Punia with the Dandim Puncak 1714/ Puncak Jaya Lt. Col. Inf Denny Salurerung.
The Puncak Regent provided basic food assistance and at the same time invited the community to dialogue as a form of trauma healing for the displaced people.
In addition, Wandik openly conveyed an invitation to the KKB group to return to the Republic of Indonesia.
“I asked to hand over the weapon, come to me later I will give you a job. In the name of the Indonesian people and this land (Papua) I promise to forgive you (KKB). Let’s return to the bosom of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, live in peace and coexist,” said Wandik.
According to Wandik, inviting them to return to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia and providing them with decent jobs is the right solution.
“This is just a solution, when they return, everything will run smoothly. Development, education and health services will continue to advance,” concluded Wandik.
“God please take care of my people…”, Puncak Regent Wilem Wandi, SE, MSi.
