DEKAI, YAHUKIMO – The Damai Cartenz Operation Task Force 2026 moved swiftly to follow up on intelligence regarding the suspected presence of a homemade firearm in the Jalan Gunung area, Kali T Complex, Dekai Town, Yahukimo Regency, on Tuesday (February 10, 2026) at approximately 2:33 PM WIT.
The information was immediately responded to by personnel from the Law Enforcement Task Force (Sub-Task Force Investigation Unit), led by Head of Investigation Sub-Task Force, Commissioner Sarraju, accompanied by Yahukimo Police Intelligence Chief, First Inspector Samuel Yunus. The joint team proceeded directly to the location to carry out measured security and investigative actions.
During the operation, officers discovered and secured one homemade long-barrel firearm that was found lying behind an unoccupied house near the site. The item was promptly seized as evidence for further investigation.
The activity involved elements from the Investigation and Intelligence Sub-Task Forces, supported by full operational equipment to ensure the situation remained safe and under control. This rapid response forms part of early prevention efforts against potential public security disturbances in the Papua Highlands region, particularly in Yahukimo Regency.
Head of Damai Cartenz Operation 2026, Brigadier General Pol. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, emphasized that any information with the potential to threaten public safety will be followed up without delay.
“Every piece of information from our intelligence network is responded to quickly and professionally. This reflects our commitment to preventing potential security threats while ensuring that people feel safe in carrying out their daily activities,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Deputy Head of Damai Cartenz Operation 2026, Senior Commissioner Pol. Adarma Sinaga, stressed the importance of synergy between security forces and the community in maintaining regional stability.
“The success of preventive measures like this cannot be separated from the active role of the community in providing information. This collaboration strengthens early detection so that potential threats can be anticipated immediately,” said Adarma.
