Jayapura – The Task Force for Peace Operation Cartenz together with Yahukimo Police conducted a crime scene investigation related to a serious assault case against two civilians in Jalur 1, Angguruk Paradiso Complex, Dekai District, Yahukimo Regency. The incident occurred on Thursday, November 6, 2025, resulting in two victims sustaining serious injuries. The investigation at the scene was carried out on Saturday, November 8, 2025.
The two victims, Berberdion Taneladian (36) and Soleman Ebenhaiser Liu (30), suffered stab wounds to various parts of their bodies. Berberdion sustained injuries to his head and left wrist, while Soleman was stabbed in his left back. They were promptly taken to RSUD Dekai for intensive medical treatment.
Initial investigations revealed that the perpetrator is believed to be someone claiming to be the Commander of the Red Ant Battalion, an armed criminal group (KKB) of Kotap Yahukimo, named Lipet Sobolim, also known as Cocor Sobolim or Junior Bocor Sobolim. The main suspect was successfully shot and killed by security forces on Thursday (6/11/2025), while three other suspects fled and are currently being pursued by police.
The joint team of the Ops Damai Cartenz Task Force and Yahukimo Police then carried out a crime scene investigation at Pasar Baru, Dekai District, to trace the chronology of events, gather evidence, and strengthen the investigative process.
Chief of the Ops Damai Cartenz, Brigadier General Pol. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., explained that the investigation aimed to uncover factual information on the ground that could clarify the legal process related to this incident.
“We are conducting this crime scene investigation to verify every piece of evidence and fact on the ground. This is crucial to support the investigation and prosecution process,” Brigadier General Faizal stated.
Meanwhile, Deputy Head of the Ops Damai Cartenz, Kombes Pol Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., added that during the investigation, officers managed to seize several pieces of evidence.
“These include a machete used by the perpetrator, a left blue sandal, a piece of the victim’s scalp, a pair of orange Swallow sandals, and a Bali cloth with Rastafarian motifs stained with blood,” explained Kombes Adarma.
The evidence has been secured for further examination and processing. Law enforcement also emphasized that they will continue monitoring developments and provide updates to the victims’ families and the public.
“We urge the community to report any additional information or the identities of other involved parties to the police,” he concluded.
This case has become a serious concern for security forces in Yahukimo, given the involvement of the KKB group. Investigations are ongoing to uncover motives and potential other perpetrators involved.
