Nabire — The Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2025 together with Nabire District Police successfully arrested a member of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB), identified as Jayainus Pogau alias Supi Pogau, who claimed to be the Commander of Battalion Hetobia, Kodap III Nduga, under the leadership of Aibon Kogoya, on Thursday (November 6) at 08:42 WIT, in Kalibobo Market, Nabire Regency.
The arrest took place after personnel from Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2025 conducted surveillance around 07:05 WIT, following intelligence reports on the suspect’s presence in the Kalibobo Market area. Once his identity was confirmed, the joint team swiftly carried out the arrest without significant resistance.
From preliminary investigation and interrogation, it was revealed that Jayainus Pogau was involved in the shooting incident against Brimob personnel from Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2025 in Intan Jaya Regency on November 22, 2023, which resulted in the death of Bharatu (Posthumous) Bonifasius Jawa and serious gunshot wounds to Bharatu Rani Seran.
The suspect was also found to have received and delivered 31 rounds of ammunition and a mobile phone to Aibon Kogoya for use in the group’s armed operations.
Evidence seized from the suspect includes:
1 blue and pink noken (Papuan woven bag)
1 black wallet
2 ID cards
1 gold-colored Vivo Y16 smartphone
2 bead necklaces (yellow-black and blue)
Cash amounting to IDR 5,730,000
1 type-C charger cable
5 areca nuts
Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2025, Brigadier General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., stated that this arrest is the result of strong collaboration and coordination between Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2025 and the Nabire Police in suppressing armed group activities in Papua.
“This arrest demonstrates our firm commitment to enforcing the law and maintaining stability in Papua. We will continue to pursue members of the Aibon Kogoya network and other armed groups,” said Brigadier General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani.
Meanwhile, Deputy Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2025, Chief Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., emphasized that the task force continues to trace the group’s network and the distribution channels of weapons and ammunition.
“Our team is still mapping and developing information related to Aibon Kogoya’s network. We urge the public to remain calm, not be influenced by misleading information, and fully trust the security forces,” said Chief Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga.
The Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2025 reaffirmed its commitment to relentlessly pursue remaining KKB members and take firm legal action against any party attempting to disrupt peace and stability in Papua in the spirit of realizing a safe, peaceful, and dignified Papua.
