Tabi Customary Leader Urges Papuans to Support Security Forces in Maintaining Public Order After Papua’s Repeat Gubernatorial Election

Jayapura – Tabi Customary Leader Soleman Demetouw has called on all Papuans—especially members of the Tabi indigenous community—to support security forces who continue working tirelessly to maintain order following the Repeat Election (PSU) for the Governor and Deputy Governor of Papua. As of Thursday (August 14, 2025), the vote-counting process is still underway.

“We urge the public not to be provoked by irresponsible individuals seeking to disrupt the vote-counting process conducted by the authorized body, the General Elections Commission (KPU),” he said.

Soleman emphasized that the public should remain calm and actively assist security personnel in maintaining public safety and order throughout the stages of this democratic process.

“Once again, we ask for the community’s full support to work together with our security forces to safeguard peace until the entire process is complete,” he added.
