Tolikara – In commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the National Police (Polri), together with the Tolikara Regency Government through the Health Office, installed one thousand decorative flags and Red-and-White national flags along the Karubaga Airport area on Friday (August 8, 2025).
This installation was carried out to create a festive atmosphere and foster a sense of patriotism among the community. The one thousand decorative flags and national flags were neatly arranged in strategic locations that serve as centers of public activity.
The event symbolizes the synergy and unity between security forces and the regional government in safeguarding national unity and enlivening the month of independence. The presence of the TNI and Polri alongside the Tolikara Regency Government is expected to inspire a spirit of nationalism and togetherness among the people in honoring and upholding the values of independence.
In addition to the flag installation, the activity also served as an opportunity for fostering closer ties between the security forces and the community. Residents enthusiastically observed the installation process, with some even taking part in the preparations, creating a warm atmosphere of togetherness filled with the spirit of independence.
