JAYAPURA – PT Pos Indonesia (Persero), known as PosIND, is exploring a strategic partnership with Universitas Amal Ilmiah (UNA’IM) Yapis Wamena to strengthen higher education development in Papua’s highland region.
Initial discussions were held on Tuesday (8/7) at PosIND’s Main Branch Office (KCU) in Jayapura. The meeting was attended by PosIND President Commissioner Muhammad Budi Djatmiko, UNA’IM Rector Rudihartono Ismail, and management representatives from both institutions.
According to Budi Djatmiko, the partnership aims to improve access to education in Indonesia’s underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost (3T) regions through an integrated service approach covering logistics, digital financial solutions, and student capacity building. He emphasized that this collaboration reflects the state-owned logistics company’s strong commitment to supporting educational development in Papua.
“This collaboration will focus on three main pillars: logistics services for academic documents, digital financial solutions, and the development of student capacity and literacy,” said Budi Djatmiko in a press release on Saturday (12/7).
UNA’IM Rector Rudihartono Ismail welcomed the plan, expressing hope that PosIND’s services will ease the delivery of academic documents to remote areas in Papua, facilitate student financial transactions, and enhance student skills through various digital literacy programs.
This partnership is also expected to serve as a model for strategic cooperation between state-owned enterprises and other universities in Papua. Through this initiative, both parties aim to ensure that students in Papua’s highlands gain better access to quality education that supports sustainable regional development.
