Ilaga, Papua – The effort to maintain stability and support uninterrupted educational activities in conflict-prone regions continues with the Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force. On Monday (April 28, 2025), personnel from the Ilaga sector carried out a dialogical patrol, visiting several schools in Ilaga District, Puncak Regency, Papua.
This activity is part of the routine patrol program that takes a humanistic approach, aiming to build direct communication between security forces and the local community, particularly students and educators. Beyond ensuring a conducive security environment, this initiative focuses on guaranteeing that teaching and learning processes continue without interference from armed criminal groups (KKB).
The Head of the Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force, Brigadier General Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., explained that the dialogical patrol approach is a strategic measure designed to address the unique security challenges in the Papuan highlands, especially in Puncak Regency.
“By visiting schools directly, we aim to ensure that children can continue their education in a safe and peaceful environment. This is part of our duty—not only as law enforcement officers but also as guardians of the next generation’s future,” said Brigadier General Faizal.
In addition to enhancing security, the initiative also serves as an outreach effort to promote the importance of education and community peace. Personnel from the Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force engage directly with students, teachers, and local residents, offering reassurance and encouragement.
The Deputy Head of Operations, Commissioner Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., added that a stable security environment is vital for the smooth delivery of public services and for building public trust in the presence of the state.
“Security is the foundation for development. When schools are safe, educational equity and long-term progress become achievable,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force’s Head of Public Relations, Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., urged all members of society to continue supporting efforts to maintain public order and peace across Puncak.
“We urge the community to stay in synergy with security personnel. If peace is maintained, public services—including education and healthcare—can function effectively,” he stated.
Through this dialogical patrol initiative, the Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force reaffirms its commitment to being present among the people—not just as law enforcers but also as active contributors to development and protectors of citizens’ fundamental rights, particularly in the field of education.
