Nabire — The suspect in the murder case of a member of the Mandala IV Task Force at Kali Mawar, District Ilu, Puncak Jaya Regency, Kamenak Gire alias Tandangan Kogoya alias Kamenak Kogoya, was officially handed over to the Nabire Attorney General’s Office during the second stage on Wednesday (March 19).
The handover process took place at the office of the Nabire Attorney General’s Office.
The Head of Operation Damai Cartenz-2025, Brigadier General Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., accompanied by the Deputy Head of Operation Damai Cartenz-2025, Kombes Pol. Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., stated that this process is part of the law enforcement efforts against Kamenak Gire, who was previously listed as a wanted person (DPO).
“The suspect is charged with Article 340 of the Penal Code concerning premeditated murder, and alternatively, Article 338 of the Penal Code regarding murder, in conjunction with Article 55, paragraph 1, clause 1 of the Penal Code,” Brigadier General Dr. Faizal Ramadhani noted in his statement.
Kamenak Gire was arrested without resistance on December 17, 2024, in Puncak Jaya. Following the investigation process, investigators from the Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Papua Regional Police and the Damai Cartenz-2025 Operation Task Force handed over the suspect along with the evidence to the Prosecutor from the Nabire Attorney General’s Office.
The Spokesperson of the Damai Cartenz-2025 Operation Task Force, Kombes Pol. Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., emphasized that this action reflects a commitment to enforcing the law and ensuring that perpetrators of crime are held accountable for their actions.
“This is part of our efforts to uphold justice so that the perpetrators are responsible for their actions in front of the law,” he asserted.
He added that the Damai Cartenz-2025 Operation Task Force will continue to strive to create security and order in Papua by taking firm action against criminals. Meanwhile, Kamenak Gire will undergo detention as a prosecutorial prisoner at the Nabire Attorney General’s Office
