Ali Kabiay Encourages Religious Tolerance in Papua During Ramadan

Jayapura, March 21, 2025 – Ali Kabiay, Chairperson of Pemuda Mandala Trikora Papua and Secretary General of Barisan Merah Putih Republik Indonesia (BMP-RI) Papua, is urging the people of Papua to maintain public safety and order during the holy month of Ramadan. He emphasizes the importance of fostering religious tolerance, particularly in respecting Muslims who are observing their fast.

According to Ali Kabiay, Papuans are known for their strong traditions of solidarity and mutual respect among followers of different religions. He stressed that these values are crucial for maintaining harmony amidst diversity. “Papua is well-known for its tradition of togetherness and its culture of mutual respect among religious communities. Let’s strengthen these values to create harmony,” he stated.

Ali Kabiay also called upon religious leaders, community figures, and all citizens to actively contribute to creating a safe, comfortable, and peaceful environment across Papua. He highlighted that collaboration and synergy among various societal elements play a vital role in reinforcing unity and cohesion in the region. He believes that through close cooperation, the community can address social challenges and ensure stability.

This appeal is expected to encourage Papuans to actively participate in fostering a conducive atmosphere during the sacred month of Ramadan. It also serves as an opportunity to strengthen the spirit of brotherhood and solidarity amid Papua’s cultural and religious diversity.
