Jayapura – To ensure a safe and comfortable environment during the Tarawih prayer in Mappi Regency, the Mappi Police Resort of the Papua Regional Police conducted security measures at Nurul Falah Mosque in Kepi on Saturday night, March 15, 2024.
The operation was led by the Chief of Mappi Police Resort, Adjunct Senior Commissioner of Police Yustinus S. Kadang, S.Sos, M.Si, and involved personnel from the Mappi Police Resort.
During the security operation, officers also provided public safety messages to the congregation, reminding them to be vigilant with their belongings. Worshippers who brought motorcycles were advised to use double locks, and residents were urged to ensure their homes were securely locked and their valuables stored safely before leaving, to prevent potential crimes.
The Chief of Mappi Police Resort stated that to support the smooth conduct of worship during Ramadan, his team would carry out patrols and security operations for Tarawih prayers at mosques across the Mappi Police Resort’s jurisdiction.
“The purpose of securing the Tarawih prayer is to provide safety for the community, ensuring that the prayers can be conducted solemnly and peacefully,” said the Chief of Mappi Police Resort.
With this security measure in place, it is hoped that the worship atmosphere during Ramadan will remain smooth and conducive within the jurisdiction of the Mappi Police Resort.
