Chief of the Wikaya-Arso-Keerom Tribe Urges to Maintain Public Order and Order in the Month of Christmas

Arso – Chief of the Wikaya Arso Tribe, Keerom, Papua, Herman Yoku, appealed to the Papuan people to maintain security and order during the month of Christmas. He conveyed this when met at Arso on Monday, December 9 2024.

Herman Yoku, who is a native son of the Tabi Tribe of Jayapura, emphasized the importance of December for Christians in Papua. This month is a moment to celebrate the birth of the Son of Christmas, who is believed to bring a message of peace to all mankind.

“The birth of the Christmas Son brought peace to all mankind in the world. Therefore, we urge that there be no chaos during this Christmas month. This month is a month of peace to welcome the Bringer of Peace who was born into the world,” said Herman.

He also reminded all Papuan people, without exception, not to take actions that could disturb the atmosphere of the Christmas celebration.

“As Christians, let us honor the month of December as a form of respect for the King of Peace by not committing criminal acts during the month of Christmas,” concluded Herman Yoku.

It is hoped that this appeal will create a conducive and peaceful atmosphere, so that all Christians in Papua can celebrate Christmas with solemnity and joy.
