Jayapura- Two important figures from Papua, namely the Acting Governor of Central Papua, Dr. Ribka Haluk, S.Sos, MM, and human rights activist Natalius Pigai, received an invitation from President-elect H. Prabowo Subianto to his residence on Jalan Kertanegara IV, South Jakarta, Monday (14/10).
The meeting sparked strong speculation that the two figures would get positions in the Prabowo-Gibran Cabinet. This was reinforced by the statement of Papuan figure, Paskalis Kossay, who said that Ribka Haluk and Natalius Pigai would become ministers in the cabinet known as the “Rainbow Cabinet of the Archipelago.”
Ribka Haluk herself is known as a figure who has succeeded in holding various important positions in the Papuan government. Before serving as Acting Governor of Central Papua, Ribka had been the Head of the Papua Social Service and Acting Regent of Mappi and Yalimo. One of his important achievements was to calm the regional election conflict in Yalimo Regency which was delayed for two years.
Meanwhile, Natalius Pigai, a prominent human rights activist, admitted that he was ready to help the Prabowo-Gibran government, although he was reluctant to reveal in detail the position he would hold. Pigai emphasized that Prabowo’s main goal was to reflect policies that accommodate the interests of the nation and strengthen the spirit of diversity.
In addition to Ribka Haluk and Natalius Pigai, a number of other figures were also present at the meeting, including Nusron Wahid, Fadli Zon, and Maruarar Sirait. This meeting gave rise to speculation that President-elect Prabowo Subianto was preparing a cabinet that reflected the diversity of the Indonesian nation.
