Papua Peace Network (JDP) Condemns the Killing of NZ Pilots

Papua- The Papua Peace Network or JDP condemns the murder of New Zealand helicopter pilot Glen Malcolm Conning by an armed criminal group (KKB). Glen was taken hostage and killed by KKB in Alama District, Mimika, Central Papua.

JDP spokesperson, Yan Warinussy, said that KKB’s actions violated criminal law regulations because they took another person’s life. Therefore, he asked the police, led by the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, to immediately carry out an investigation involving Komnas HAM.

This is to ensure that there are no crimes against humanity in the murder of the helicopter pilot. According to him, the KKB’s actions in killing a foreign pilot have become an international highlight.

JDP asked President Joko Widodo and National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo to provide access for Komnas HAM to participate in investigating incidents of extrajudicial killings, said Yan.

He said he intended to start a whole series of criminal investigations. There are allegations of human rights violations in the murder of New Zealand pilot Glen Malcolm.

JDP also highlighted the KKB’s accusation that the victim was a spy. According to him, the KKB’s accusations were baseless and misguided. “We regret the actions of the main judge himself who dropped the pilot from New Zealand,” he said.
