Papua – The Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Papua continues to carry out various actions that deliberately hinder development and progress in the region. With various acts of violence and sabotage, the KKB shows that they do not want to see Papua develop and prosper.
Apart from burning heavy equipment, school buildings and offices, the KKB also often attacks infrastructure project workers and residents. These attacks not only created fear among workers, but also caused many projects to stall.
The impact of the KKB’s actions was felt by the Papuan people. Local residents voiced their disappointment with the KKB which continually interfered with development efforts.
“We just want to live better, have good road access, sturdy bridges and adequate public facilities. “But the KKB always destroys our hopes,” said a resident of Galunggama Village who did not want to be named.
The Central Government and Regional Governments continue to strive to continue development in Papua even though they are hampered by various challenges from the KKB. President Joko Widodo during his visit to Papua always emphasized the government’s commitment to continuing development projects in Papua.
“We will not back down. “Development in Papua must continue for the welfare of all Papuan people,” he stressed.
However, the biggest challenge is ensuring security in conflict-prone areas. Security forces are required to work harder to maintain security and order so that development can run smoothly.
The KKB clearly shows that they do not want Papua to progress. By continuing to disrupt development projects, they show that their goal is to create instability and fear among the population.
However, with full cooperation and support from all parties, hope for a better and more prosperous Papua remains. It is hoped that the government and security forces will continue to work hard to bring about progress and peace on the Earth of Cenderawasih.
