
Jayapura – Papua Police Chief Inspector General Pol. Mathius Fakhiri stated that the implementation of Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijriah prayers in his area was safe.
“Thank God, the implementation of the Eid Al-Fitr 1445 Hijri Prayers took place safely and this is proof of the high level of tolerance in the Land of Papua,” said the Regional Police Chief, Wednesday (10/4/24).
The Regional Police Chief hopes that tolerance can continue to be maintained so that it becomes an example for other regions in Indonesia.
“Continue to maintain tolerance between religious communities and strengthen ties of brotherhood so that security is maintained,” stressed the Regional Police Chief.
Furthermore, the Regional Police Chief said that security conditions were relatively under control even though there were several vulnerable areas. Security forces continue to be on guard to provide a sense of security from armed group interference.
“TNI-Polri will continue to strive to maintain security in their assigned areas, in order to provide a sense of security to the community,” concluded the Regional Police Chief.
