Timika – Papuan Traditional Leader, Mr. Menwel Magal, appealed to the public to remain calm and not be provoked by what has become a false news issue.
Mr. Menwel Jhon Magal is the Chair of the Amungme Tribe Traditional Deliberation Institution, or abbreviated as LEMASA, is a traditional institution based in Timika, Central Papua which was founded in 1994.
At a meeting of Papuan figures gathered on Tuesday (19/12/2023), Menwel told the public not to be easily provoked and to remain calm following the democratic party.
“I urge the public not to be provoked, remain calm and take part in the democratic party or elections in 2024,” said Menwel.
He also said that no responsible party should disrupt the elections in the Mimika Regency area.
“Don’t let the parties who are responsible intervene to disrupt security in society and the community remains orderly, safe and peaceful until the elections in Amungsa land are successful,” he concluded.
