Papua Regional Police Chief Reveals Current Condition of Susi Air Pilot

Jayapura – Entering the 8th month of being held hostage, the Susi Air pilot is still not free after being taken hostage by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) led by Egianus Kogoya last February in the Paro District, Kab. Nduga.

Papua Police Chief Inspector General Mathius D Fakhiri revealed the current condition of Susi Air pilot, Philip Mark Mehrtens, who is being held hostage by an armed criminal group (KKB).

He confirmed that the Susi Air pilot, a New Zealander, was still alive and in good health.⁣

“(Captain Philip Mark Mehrtens) is still alive and well,” said Papua Police Chief.⁣

The two-star general also confirmed that currently the process of releasing Philip is still ongoing.

By taking a peaceful negotiation approach through a number of parties, including the family of KKB leader Egianus Kogoya.⁣

Therefore, Mathius believes that the process of releasing the Susi Air pilot is only a matter of time.
