NABIRE – In the spirit of togetherness and brotherhood, the Chief of Polres Nabire has called on all residents of Nabire Regency, Central Papua, to uphold harmony and interfaith tolerance during the Holy Month of Ramadan 1447 Hijri.
Accompanied by the Deputy Chief of Police, Police Chief AKBP Semuel D. Tatiratu stated that Ramadan is a meaningful occasion not only for Muslims, but also for the entire community to strengthen mutual respect and preserve shared peace.
According to him, a safe and comfortable atmosphere during Ramadan can only be achieved when all elements of society support and respect one another. He emphasized that tolerance and harmony are the main foundations of social life in the diverse community of Nabire.
“We invite all residents of Nabire to continue fostering togetherness and mutual respect, so that our Muslim brothers and sisters can observe their fasting with devotion and peace,” he said.
The Police Chief also stressed that maintaining public security and order is not solely the responsibility of security forces, but a shared duty. Synergy between the police, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), local government, religious leaders, community leaders, and all citizens is essential in creating a conducive environment.
He expressed hope that the spirit of unity and mutual cooperation will continue to be strengthened, ensuring that social life in Nabire remains harmonious, respectful, and free from division.
Furthermore, security forces together with the local government will continue to carry out security measures and situation monitoring in a humane and persuasive manner to ensure that all Ramadan activities run smoothly.
Through collaboration and collective awareness, Polres Nabire remains optimistic that Ramadan 1447 Hijri in Nabire Regency, Central Papua, will be observed safely, peacefully, and in a way that further strengthens interfaith brotherhood.
