Peace on a Day of Worship: Damai Cartenz Task Force Presence Brings Calm to Sinak Residents

PUNCAK – The atmosphere on Sunday morning in Sinak District felt different. In the cold, quiet air of Papua’s highlands, residents walked to church with calmer hearts, reassured that someone was there to keep them safe.

Personnel from the Damai Cartenz Operation Task Force 2026 had been on standby since early morning, ensuring that the Christian worship service could proceed safely and solemnly. The activity began with a personnel readiness roll call at the Belukar Post at 09:26 WIT on Sunday (February 8, 2026), led by Second Brigadier Fahri Yansyah. During the assembly, officers checked personnel preparedness, individual equipment, and task assignments for the security detail.

From there, the team moved toward the church locations in Sinak. Their presence was not merely about security, but a tangible sign of the state standing among the people, providing reassurance as they practiced their faith.

In Papua’s mountainous region, where geographical and security challenges are part of daily life, the ability to worship in peace carries deep meaning. This is what the Damai Cartenz Task Force 2026 seeks to safeguard: ensuring that communities can pray without fear or anxiety.

Head of Operation Damai Cartenz 2026, Brigadier General Pol. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, emphasized that securing places of worship is part of the Indonesian National Police’s commitment to protecting all citizens, regardless of background.

“We want the community to feel that officers are present to protect, not to intimidate. When people can worship in peace, that is when our presence truly has meaning,” said Brig. Gen. Faizal Ramadhani.

Echoing the statement, Deputy Head of Operation Damai Cartenz 2026, Senior Commissioner Pol. Adarma Sinaga, highlighted the importance of a human-centered approach in every field assignment.

“Securing worship services is not only about procedures, but about empathy. We want to build mutual trust, showing that officers and the community walk together in maintaining peace,” said Sr. Comr. Adarma Sinaga.

The security operation continued until 10:46 WIT, with the situation remaining safe, orderly, and conducive. Residents warmly welcomed the officers’ presence, expressing greater comfort throughout the worship service.

That morning in Sinak, peace was more than just a word. It was reflected in the quiet steps of officers standing guard, ensuring that prayers could be offered without fear.
