INTAN JAYA — The Operation Peace Cartenz (ODC) 2026 Task Force continues to ensure security stability in the central highlands of Papua by securing Bilogai Airport in Sugapa, Intan Jaya Regency, Central Papua. This security measure is being implemented to ensure smooth air transportation and ensure logistics distribution for the local community.
Bilogai Airport plays a vital role in the lives of Intan Jaya residents. In addition to serving as the primary means of public mobility, the airport also serves as a distribution route for basic necessities, medicines, and healthcare services, which are heavily dependent on pioneering flights.
Security activities were carried out on Monday (February 2, 2026) under the supervision of the Belukar 4.0 Sector Commander of Operation Peace Cartenz, AKP Syahril Arditya, S.Tr.K., S.I.K. ODC personnel implemented comprehensive security measures, including airport area sterilization, runway guarding, and monitoring the surrounding hilly areas to anticipate potential security disturbances.
The Head of the Cartenz 2026 Peace Operation, Brigadier General Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., emphasized that securing vital objects is an important part of the state’s efforts to guarantee the basic rights of the Papuan people.
“The airport is the lifeblood of the people in the mountainous region. Its security must be maintained so that transportation, logistics, and health services can run smoothly. However, all security efforts prioritize a humanistic approach,” emphasized Brigadier General Faizal Ramadhani.
According to him, the smooth operation of Bilogai Airport symbolizes the state’s presence in providing a sense of security and ensuring the welfare of the community. He also emphasized that all personnel carry out their duties professionally and meticulously, while maintaining good communication with the public.
Meanwhile, AKP Syahril Arditya stated that the main focus of security is ensuring that all flight activities, both passenger and cargo, can proceed safely and conducively.
“With maintained security, logistics distribution to Sugapa can run smoothly, ensuring that community needs are met and price stability is maintained,” he said.
In addition to maintaining security, Operation Peace Carstensz personnel also employ a persuasive approach with the community around the airport. A humane atmosphere is evident as personnel engage in dialogue with residents and interact in a friendly manner with children in the airport’s secure area.
As a result, all flight activities at Bilogai Airport proceed safely and smoothly without any issues. The security situation is monitored as conducive.
Through the ongoing security of vital objects, Operation Peace Carstensz 2026 affirms its commitment to maintaining security and peace in Papua, particularly in supporting the survival and well-being of communities in remote areas.
