Sugapa — The Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force (ODC) 2026 has strengthened security at Bilogai Airport in Sugapa, Intan Jaya Regency, Central Papua, to ensure safe transportation access and the steady flow of logistics for communities in Papua’s central highlands.
Bilogai Airport is a vital facility with a strategic role in the daily lives of Intan Jaya residents. In addition to serving as the main passenger transportation hub, the airport is also the primary entry point for essential goods, medical supplies, and healthcare services that heavily depend on air transport.
Security operations were carried out on Monday (February 2, 2026) under the leadership of Police Inspector Syahril Arditya. Cartenz Peace Operation personnel conducted area sterilization, runway security, and monitoring of the surrounding hills to anticipate potential security threats.
Head of Cartenz Peace Operation 2026, Brig. Gen. Pol. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, emphasized that safeguarding vital objects such as Bilogai Airport remains a top priority in maintaining security stability across Papua.
“Airport security is crucial to ensuring the smooth movement of people and goods. However, security measures are carried out with a humanistic approach so that the public feels safe and comfortable,” Brig. Gen. Faizal Ramadhani stated.
He added that the uninterrupted operation of the airport reflects the state’s presence in guaranteeing basic public needs, particularly access to logistics, healthcare services, and mobility. All Cartenz Peace Operation personnel have been instructed to carry out their duties professionally, firmly, and while maintaining a humane approach.
Meanwhile, Sector Commander Belukar 4.0 of the Cartenz Peace Operation, Police Inspector Syahril Arditya, explained that security efforts are focused on ensuring that all flight activities run safely and without disruption.
“Securing Bilogai Airport is key to keeping logistics distribution to Sugapa running smoothly and maintaining stable prices of essential goods for the community,” he said.
In addition to security duties, personnel also engaged in persuasive and friendly interactions with residents around the airport. Humanistic engagement was evident as officers communicated with community members waiting for arriving flights and children in designated safe areas of the airport.
Thanks to these integrated security measures, all flight activities, both passenger and cargo, proceeded safely and smoothly. The situation at Bilogai Airport remains conducive.
Cartenz Peace Operation 2026 reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining security stability in Papua, particularly at vital facilities that support the daily lives of the community, in order to foster a safe, peaceful, and conducive environment.
