Timika — The humanistic approach of Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2025 continues to strengthen relations with local communities in Papua. On Tuesday afternoon (December 16, 2025), personnel from the Head of Public Relation visited local UMKM centers in Timika by directly purchasing Papuan handicrafts.
The activity was carried out by Iptu I Gde Pradana Sthirabudhi, S.Ds., who interacted closely with local artisans and vendors. The personnel purchased traditional Papuan mini statues and handmade noken bags produced by local women.
One of the locations visited was Jalan SP 5, a well-known center for noken bag production. There, the personnel engaged warmly with Papuan women artisans, including Elsa Nawiyuta, commonly known as Mama Elsa, the head of the local noken weaving group.
The activity continued at Jalan Belibis or Emeneme Roundabout, where additional noken bags were purchased. The presence of the personnel was warmly welcomed by the community.
Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2025, Brigadier General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, stated that such simple yet meaningful activities are part of a humanistic strategy aimed at building trust and harmony with the community.
