Pegunungan Bintang — In efforts to maintain security stability in the Papua Highlands area, the Damai Cartenz Operation Task Force (Satgas Operasi Damai Cartenz) continues to prioritize a humane approach. On Thursday (12/11/2025), personnel carried out a dialogue-based and warm-hearted patrol in Kampung Apom, Kiwirok District, Pegunungan Bintang Regency.
The activity was led directly by IPDA Munawar, who emphasized a relaxed and friendly approach with local residents. During this event, they not only conducted patrols but also shared snacks with villagers, especially children, and engaged in open dialogue to listen to their aspirations and foster trust.
This step is part of the strategy of Satgas Ops Damai Cartenz to build emotional connections and trust between security forces and the community. The humane approach in this mountainous region is expected to overcome geographic challenges and create a conducive atmosphere.
Brigadier General Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, Head of Damai Cartenz Operations, stated that maintaining security is not only about armed personnel present but also about fostering harmonious and trusting relationships with the community. “Humane patrols like this are one way to strengthen bonds and ensure residents feel safe and protected,” he said.
Furthermore, Brigadier General Faizal emphasized that the humane presence of security forces reflects the role of the state in serving and protecting all Papuan citizens without exception.
Meanwhile, Deputy Head of Damai Cartenz Operations, Kombes Pol. Adarma Sinaga, highlighted that a persuasive and dialogic approach will continue to be a top priority. “Through these patrols, we aim to establish two-way communication, hear the community’s voices directly, and ensure our presence provides tangible benefits and a sense of security,” he explained.
The local community welcomed this initiative positively and hopes that similar activities will continue in the future as part of efforts to build closer ties and mutual understanding.
