Pegunungan Bintang — In their ongoing efforts to maintain security stability in the Papua Highlands, the Damai Cartenz Operation Task Force (Satgas Ops Damai Cartenz) continues to adopt a humane approach. On Thursday (12/11/2025), personnel conducted a community-oriented patrol in Kiwirok District, Apom Village, in the Pegunungan Bintang Regency.
Led directly by IPDA Munawar, the patrol emphasized relaxed and friendly communication with local residents. During the activity, the team shared snacks with villagers, especially children, and engaged in casual conversations to listen to their aspirations and strengthen mutual trust.
This approach is part of the broader strategy of Satgas Ops Damai Cartenz to build emotional bonds and trust between security personnel and the community. The humane patrols aim to overcome geographic challenges in the mountainous region and create a safe and conducive environment.
Brigadier General Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, Head of Damai Cartenz Operations, emphasized that maintaining security is not only about the presence of armed personnel but also about fostering trust and close relationships with the community. “Humane patrols like this are a way to reinforce bonds and ensure that residents feel safe and protected,” he said.
Furthermore, Brigadier General Faizal stated that the humane presence of security forces reflects the government’s role in serving and protecting all Papuan citizens without exception.
Meanwhile, Deputy Head of Damai Cartenz Operations, Kombes Pol. Adarma Sinaga, reiterated that a persuasive and dialogic approach will continue to be a priority for the task force. “Through these patrols, we aim to establish two-way communication, hear the voices of the community directly, and ensure our presence provides tangible benefits and a sense of security,” he explained.
The local residents welcomed the initiative positively and hope that similar activities will continue in the future as part of efforts to build closer ties and mutual understanding.
