Timika — Support for law enforcement efforts in Papua was once again voiced by local community leader Abd. Rachman Nurcholis. He expressed his firm support for the Peace Operation Cartenz Task Force, which continues to work to maintain security amid threats posed by armed groups opposing the government.
The statement was delivered in Timika on Wednesday (10/12), where he emphasized that the task force’s presence is crucial in safeguarding stability, especially ahead of the Christmas season when a peaceful and safe atmosphere is essential for Christian communities across Papua.
“I, as a member of the Papuan community, express full support for the Peace Operation Cartenz Task Force. And I urge all people in the Land of Papua to jointly maintain peace so that this December we can celebrate Christmas in a peaceful and joyful atmosphere,” he said.
He also highlighted that the hard work and professionalism demonstrated by the task force have produced positive impacts, with several previously vulnerable areas gradually returning to a more secure condition.
Abd. Rachman Nurcholis reaffirmed his stance by saying, “We affirm that the Peace Operation Cartenz has succeeded in bringing peace to Papua.”
The support expressed by the community leader is expected to further strengthen cooperation between security forces and local residents in maintaining harmony and ensuring Papua remains peaceful and stable.
